hello people.
and happy independence day to all the fellow indians, though i have a mixed feeling about the day.
i love my country, but my love is often mistaken as hate, and my care is often mistaken as neglection. but in my way, i love the country like no one else. afterall, a man, no matter how high his wings can take him, should never forget his roots, his land of origin.
since the very eve of the independence day, the preparations for the festival started. i do not know about the other countries, but here in india, the preparation means something else. profile pictures were being changed to tiranga at full swing. since the daybreak, each and every guy i know on every internet society whose accounts i possess, is posting about how fabulous the independence day is, and how much they love the country. i went out for breakfast and i see ever next guy wearing the tricolor as a badge on their shirts, or as a paint on their forhead, or had a miniature flag installed on their bikes. all these things aren't wrong, but sadly these are the only things we do to project our share of love to the country. here is where we go wrong.
we aren't free, we aren't independent. we are standing right at the dawn of a huge economical ice age. our leaders that we appoint with a so called fool proof system, are eating up the country peice by peice. there are political tensions, ever increasing, with continuous division of states. there is poverty, unemployment and lack of education all over. people are often shown false statistics that represent an ever increasing growth, but the reality is way different. and the politicians are earning over the benefit of doubt. we really suck at every front.
the youth in the country are non-dreamers. they are scared for future and have no courage to think big. not even 1% of the youth community go for enterpreneurship, all of them choose to work like a mule for others. the talents in which the country invests are bought by the big daddy america. you might feel, for a second, there is peace. there is harmony. but no, there is chaos, there is commotion, there is pandemonium. every second, people are dying due to the deart of food, water and education.
now i think, it might have been a mistake to throw out the britishers 67 years ago. give me one reason justifies that we were in captivation then and we are independent now. what? they were killing our men? these filthy politicians are arrange murders for fun, i have literally seen them doing that. what? they were stealing the money from the 'golden bird'? the higher command in this democratic country has even cut the wings and i am very unsure if it could fly again. atleast in their regions, there were some developments, there was population control, there was a system for education. i am very ashamed to think that, that my country was better off in captivation. it was anytime better than faking the independence.
on my solemn walk an hour ago, i saw a tricolor lying down on the sidewalk. now i am not a pessimist and i love my country a lot, but i saw no reason in lifting it up!
